About the locality:
The village is situated southeast of Bucharest. During fieldwork in 1974 there were approximately 150 households but few of the residents were still speaking Bulgarian. It is mentioned as a locality with a Bulgarian population by S. Romanski, who visited it in 1906 and established that its settlers originated from Hŭrsovo, Isperih Region and Karaarnaut (today Goljam Izvor), Razgrad Region and that they had settled in 1836 (
